REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Class fees are payable IN FULL upon registration and refunded if CSG cancels the class. A refund for STORE CREDIT ONLY is provided if you cancel no later than one week before class begins; however, no credit or transfers to other classes can be allowed after this time. You may, of course, let someone else come in your place. You may register by mail or at the shop. We will be glad to answer any questions; just call 410-263-3897. Students: Please come with all your supplies to the first class. In order to keep our class fees down to a minimum; we ask your cooperation in using your class discount to purchase the majority of your fabrics and supplies at Cottonseed Glory. Free Machine Quilting Event
This is a chance for those of you who want to learn free-motion quilting and who do not already own a Bernina Machine with the wonderful Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR). We will furnish the machine and the fabric kit for this class and teach machine quilting as you make our pretty free-form tree pillow. No experience necessary! Yes, everything is FREE, but please sign up early as we will have one machine per student. Two sessions: either morning, 10:30-12:30, or afternoon, 1:30-3:30. Sat. Sept. 11.
Beginners One Day Quilting Experience - "The Zen Quilt"
Easy enough for a beginner, but the results are satisfying even for experienced quilters who love to play with color. Carolin Head’s version is done in cool deep green, blue and purple batiks, but this pattern will adapt well to many color and fabric choices and can be made in your choice of sizes. You’ll love it! Beginning Heirloom Machine Quilting
Turn that stack of quilt tops into finished quilts! You’ll learn free-motion quilting techniques including stippling, following a design without ever turning your quilt, using the walking foot for straight line work, handling even the largest quilts all with pucker-free backs. No prior experience needed and just a basic straight stitch is used. Two classes to chose from: mornings 9/8 & 9/15, 10:30-12:30; OR, evenings 9/8 & 9/15 7:00-9:00. $55. Beginning Sewing - Amy Butler's Hourglass Decorator Pillows
This beginning sewing class with Loris Nebbia will get you started on just the right foot. Pick some great fabrics and make one or more of these handsome pillows. You would pay big $$’s for pillows like this in a trendy store! Learn from the very beginning to use your sewing machine, how to cut out and read a pattern and so much more. Judy's Original Woven Tiny Tumbling Blocks Bag
Judy has just won a blue ribbon on this bag and you will see why. The amazing tiny blocks are actually achieved by weaving strips of fabric! The results are astounding! Starry Wallhanging
This quilt uses a streamlined construction technique for the star points. The center star block is surrounded by fourteen smaller stars. A special technique and tool make this difficult appearing project simple to construct. (You don’t have to tell anyone—just accept the compliments!) Thurs. 9/16. 10:30-3:30. $45. Pat Brousil.

Wildflowers Machine Appliqué & Embroidery
This spectacular quilt done in batiks features individual wild flower blocks that are appliquéd and then embellished with embroidery both done using your machine embroidery unit. This can be done on any make of machine with embroidery capacity and is suitable for a BEGINNER, but full of tips on stabilizers, hooping, threads and tensions for those who have some experience. Beautiful art for your wall! Use foundation piecing to achieve the slender points in the wonderful piece. Often feared as a very, very intimidating pattern, the New York Beauty becomes easy and do-able with foundation piecing—the technique that makes the most impossible designs easy. Piecing By Hand - Castle Wall
If you’ve ever wanted a portable project or just something to take to the family room to work on, this is the perfect class. You’ll work on the beautiful “Castle Wall” block with Pat Brousil as you learn just how to sit and sew and relax just about anywhere. Thur. 11/18 10:30-3:30. $45.

Bernina Guide Classes

These classes are FREE with the purchase of your machine from Cottonseed Glory. (Modest fees apply to others.) Classes are designed to help you discover all the wonderful features of your Bernina and feel comfortable in using it, plus how to clean, oil and maintain your machine. Although there is no charge, PLEASE CALL TO REGISTER—so that we can keep class sizes at a comfortable level. Bring to class: your machine, all the attachments, your Guide Book, good quality thread, extra bobbins, your knee lifter, if included, and a small pair of scissors. For the BSR & Quilting class and the Embroidery Guide also bring the additional supplies listed with the classes below.

Embroidery Guide, All Models
Thurs. Sept. 16. 6:30. (Aurora owners: bring your laptop with software loaded. Call if you need help with this.) Bring a fat quarter of a solid fabric or muslin, tear-away stabilizer and a few colors of embroidery thread and scissors.

BSR Quilting & Piecing Class
Tues. Sept 14, 7:00. All models with BSR attachments. Please bring eight quilt “sandwiches” approx. 10 x 10, a small ruler, good thread, scissors, a pencil or pen, your walking foot, and #37 & #57 feet. We will make you comfortable using the incomparable BSR, plus the many uses and features of the walking foot and its accessories, and lots of tips for perfect piecing on your Bernina.

Embroidery Extra
Don't miss the Wildflowers class that utilizes your machine's capability to appliqué and embellish blocks. Oct. 5 & 12. 6:30. See October class schedule for more details. This is for all models with embroidery units.

Handi-Quilter Clubs

Handi-Quilter Clubs are continuing lessons on using your wonderful machine. There is also show & tell with projects you have made and questions you might have or tips from members to share. It is an open forum with lots of sharing of ideas in addition to the class format. Usually, there is hands-on time on the machine included. It is FREE if you purchased your machine here. (A $35 fee per meeting or $100 for 3 consecutive meetings applies if you purchased at another location not offering support.) Please e-mail or call to register so I know how many chairs to set up and how many “goodies” to bring.

By Popular Demand
We will review tension, threads, and trouble shooting and Bill will repeat the class some of you missed on caring for and deep-cleaning your machine from a mechanic’s point of view. Also, I have some new things to show you including my new “favorite” ruler and some new things from HQ. BRING SHOW & TELL—share what you’ve done over the summer and what you learned from it. Sun. Sept. 12. 1:30.

Trapunto On the HQ
It’s that special touch that can add the “wow” factor to your quilts and it’s not really difficult to do. Trapunto is where extra batting loft is added to special areas in your quilt and finished off with a close fill design surrounding them. Sun. Oct. 10. 1:30.

Is the Pro-Stitcher For Me?
Albie McCall and I will show you some of the features of the Pro-Stitcher and how it can expand your quilting possibilities. Albie will have completed the Pro-Stitcher training at HQ studio in Salt Lake. Even if the Pro-Stitcher is not on your wish list, we will include new tips on regular use of your HQ learned at training. Nov. 7. 1:30.

I will be doing more new product training with HQ at Fall Quilt Market & Festival in Houston and scouring all the booths for new tools, rulers, etc. Be the first to see what I found. Dec. 5. 1:30.
